Our commitment

Mogtama3 brings people together. A website that leaves people out would work against everything we do.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, on every page and in all four languages: English, Arabic, French and Portuguese. This statement covers the website mogtama3.com.

We design with people of determination, not just for them. Accessibility is part of every page from the first sketch. It is not a fix added at the end.

Nothing about us without us. If something on this site does not work for you, we want to hear about it. Report a problem.

Designed with people of determination

We build with the people who use what we build. An advisory group that includes people of determination reviews our work [to form].

Part 2 of 5

What we do

Access is built into the site itself. You do not need to install anything or ask for anything.

Every image has a text description, every form field has a label, and every error is explained in words, in all four languages.

Display settings

Make the text larger, turn on high contrast, or reduce motion. Your choices are remembered on your device, so you set them once.

Find the Display settings button at the top of every page, next to the language switch.

Try display settings

Display settings need JavaScript, which is turned off or blocked in this browser. You can still make the text larger with your browser’s zoom.

No overlay widgets

We use no third-party accessibility overlays. Access is built into the pages, so the site works with the tools you already use, such as screen readers.

Keyboard navigation

Every link, button and form field works with a keyboard alone. A Skip to content link comes first on every page.

On touch screens, buttons and controls are at least 44 px, so they are easy to tap.

Visible focus

A clear ring always shows where you are on the page: gold on dark backgrounds, teal on light ones.

Arabic, right to left

The Arabic site is a mirrored layout, not a translation laid over the English one. Numbers, emails and phone numbers stay left to right.

Egyptian Sign Language

Our key pages will each have a short video summary in Egyptian Sign Language. [to record]

Captions and transcripts

Every video has captions and a written transcript. No video ever plays by itself.

Known limitations

We have not had our first independent audit yet. Here is what we already know is not right, so nothing takes you by surprise.

1

Sign language summaries are not recorded yet

Some pages show a placeholder where an Egyptian Sign Language video summary will go.

Planned: [recording date to confirm]

2

Easy Read covers four pages so far

Home, Dafa, Hemma and the privacy notice have Easy Read versions. Other pages do not have one yet.

3

Settings stay on one device

Display settings are saved on the device and browser you used. On another device, you need to choose them again.

The settings are at the top of every page.
