Sustainable technology and AI
Mizan (balance) is the Mogtama3 programme for using technology and AI sustainably. In practical, plain-language sessions we look at saving energy and resources, right-sizing your AI use, making devices last and cutting e-waste.
Our community sessions are free of sales pitches, and we never promote HAiCapita products at them.

Each session takes one or more of these topics and turns it into simple steps for home, school or work.
AI is useful, and it uses energy every time it runs. Four habits keep it in balance.
Use the smallest tool that does the job.
Write clear prompts instead of regenerating.
Reuse good answers.
Use on-device features for simple tasks.
What data centres, streaming, storage and AI use, and how to cut waste at home and at work.
Repair, reuse and refurbish, and hand old electronics to licensed recyclers [partners to confirm].
Right-size cloud resources, switch off idle systems, and measure and report the footprint.
Efficient code and models, measured with the Software Carbon Intensity specification (ISO/IEC 21031:2024).
How we deliver
Every format is practical, in plain language and free of sales pitches. Choose the one that suits your group, or ask us to shape one with you.
Open sessions for neighbours, families and community groups, in plain language.
Talks for students and staff. Schools book sessions for their students directly.
Hands-on help to cut digital waste in a small team: devices, cloud, storage and everyday AI use.
Efficient code and models, measured with the Software Carbon Intensity specification.
Bring a device to repair or reuse, or hand old electronics to licensed recyclers.
Tell us about your group and we will suggest one.
New dates will appear here as soon as they are confirmed. You can also ask us to bring a session to your group.

Mizan asks you to weigh what your technology costs. We hold this website to the same standard.
This website
This website is built to a page-weight budget, with no autoplay video and efficient images.
Each page has a weight limit. New features have to fit inside it.
Nothing plays until you press play, and every video has captions and a transcript.
Images are sized to your screen, saved in modern formats and loaded only when you reach them.
Our own footprint is measured before we make any claim about it.
